11 July 2013 by Grant ClauserThe new owner of this luxurious House of 17,000 square meters in Naples FL wanted so impressive audio/video system as its view of the Gulf of Mexico.
When CE Pro Gene Howarth of sound coast first toured the home page, home owner had his mind on some TVs in the open air around the hot tub and pergola. He also asked Howarth to come up with something big. The owner likes to have parties. A very special meeting for a local wine festival was rising, and the owner wanted to to your guests to be blown away.
The first idea, explains Howarth, was for a huge display C seed TV designed by porch design studios, but that would be impractical in this situation. Then he realized that the spaces between the columns around the courtyard were the right size for a projection screen. Stewart Filmscreen representative had mentioned Stewart StarGlas material and mental gears of Howarth began to turn. Representation of a project architect helped persuade the owner who would be the perfect solution.? (Here's an indoor theater that Stewart StarGlas uses)
Howarth eventually settled on an 80-inch, 16:9 StarGlas piece to the middle of the screen and projector DLP Digital projection HIGHlite Cine Inc. 660 3 1080 p - chip. 1080 P resolution projector uses two lights of 330 Watts, which is more than bright enough for outdoor use. StarGlas screen is a rigid, not as used in most home theaters interior fabric material. It is extremely resistant to weathering and abrasion, that makes much of outdoor systems. You don't have to be retracted in a soffit when not in use.
To do all the work, Howarth commissioned a large aluminum for the projector and the screen casing. Housing meets the edge of the courtyard (the back of the box is in sight). Inside is the DPI, the mirror that reflects the image on screen, cooling equipment and other electronics, plus rooms for two people to duck, inside and work. Howarth says it took six people and a mechanical lift to get all this in place.
To join in the exterior decoration aluminum box, Howarth used a material called Roman Rock and I finished to match it with stone columns.
Audio for housing is managed by a system of Audio Crestron Sonnex Multiroom, which enabled Howarth to get music to 17 zones via CAT5 cable. Crestron foreign speakers provide the sound around the big screen of the StarGlas as well as in the area of the covered cabin, which includes a Samsung TV that rises in an elevator of a counter of marble and Sunbrite TV outdoor which rises in an elevator by the jacuzzi outdoor.
Crestron is used to control the entire inside and out. Especially the owner used iPads to the interface of the system: there are several placed around the residence, but a dedicated Crestron touch screens are mounted on the inside, and a waterproof Crestron remote control is used in the open air near the hot tub.
While the owner prefers the experience outside of the AV in almost every day, sometimes it rains. For those times when the House also includes an indoor theater with a retractable screen 100 inch and another projector DPI, this a 400 M - Vision.
With a beautiful view of the ocean, a cool breeze and brilliant film on the big screen, the courtyard has become the center of the House, or at least the center of attention. "Use all the time," said Howarth. The installation team have done in time for the feast of the wine, and all the guests were impressed. Mission accomplished.
