Also taking place on March 26 along with the auction of Slash's collection at Julien's Auctions in Beverly Hills is a Rock Legends auction. This sale is a catch-all collection of a variety of memorabilia spanning decades of music history. Shown above are some of the highlights including a handwritten set of the lyrics to Michael Jackson's "Beat-It" estimated to sell at $4,000 to $6,000.

This single-breasted pink coat with black trim and accents was owned by Prince. He gave this jacket to his girlfriend at the time, Charlene Friend. While on a date in Los Angeles, Friend got cold and Prince gave her this jacket. It is estimated at $2,000 to $4,000.

Michael Jackson gave this suit of armor to TJ Martell. Jackson is believed to have had six of these suits, gifted five, and kept one for himself. It is estimated at $2,000 - $3,000.

A selection of Elvis memorabilia includes a 14k gold ring owned by Elvis Presley and gifted to Ed Parker estimated at $4,000 to $6,000.

Michael Jackson had a wide variety of military style jackets. This one was made by Jackson clothing designers Dennis Tomkins and Michael Bush with military style patches on upper arm, braiding at shoulders and red arm band affixed to right upper arm. It is estimated at $4,000 to $6,000.

A selection of celebrity guitars includes the blue Alice Cooper-signed guitar at left; one signed by Lynyrd Skynyrd drummer Artimus Pyle; and one signed by members of the Beach Boys.

A picture of John Lennon drinking (estimated at $200 to $400) sits next to a Gibson Melody Maker electric guitar signed on February 20, 2008, backstage at the Brit Awards held at The Earls Court Arena in London by: Sir Paul McCartney, Mark Ronson, Amy Winehouse, Ozzy Osbourne, Sharon Osbourne, Kelly Osbourne, Jack Osbourne, Beth Ditto, Kylie Minogue, Rihanna, Leona Lewis, and Adele. It is estimated at $2,000 - $4,000.

Want to hang a platinum record on your wall? Among the offerings is the platinum record for Bruce Springsteen's "Darkness on the Edge of Town estimated at $600 - $800 and one for Prince's "1999" estimated at $800 to $1,200.

A signed Jimi Hendrix poster shown at left above is estimated at $1000 to $2000. On the far right, a lenticular Lady Gaga poster is estimated at $300 to $400. In between records by Madonna and other artists represent a bit of an accidental timeline of rock music between the appearance of these two game-changing musicians.
